The Endangered Species Act

2004 Federal District Court of Oregon has ordered the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to determine whether the southern Idaho ground squirrel (and the sand dune lizard [New Mexico] and Taho yellow cress [??]) warrant protection under the Endangered Species Act. The Service is required to issue a decision by December 20, 2004. The squirrel was previously listed as a "candidate" species under the ESA. (??) (LINK TO WWP SITE?)
